The month of November seemed to go a little faster than usual, probably due to a lot of events occurring as well as pending for December.
Grand Lodge went the 8th and 9th of the month and we witnessed not only a new Grand Master, but also our own Worshipful Brother Rex Wayne Rockhill assume the mantle and title of District Deputy Grand Master for District 1B. Congratulations Right Worshipful Brother Rex!
The Lodge Budget meeting took place on Tuesday the 12th at the usual time of 7p.m. and although I was unable to attend, it was indeed a momentous occasion as the check for the investment portfolio was presented to Alan Beckner to set the lodge on a path of financial gain that should keep us in the black for a long time to come.
For the Stated Communication, the ladies of the Eastern Star served an outstanding meal of Lasagna and salad, to include a dessert that featured ice cream and cake! A very special cake was presented by Right Worshipful Brother Don Ritenour’s wife, Debbie, as it was a celebration and presentation of his 60-year pin and certificate as an Ancient Free and Accepted Mason. We were/are honored by his membership in the Fraternity. There were numerous brothers in Masonry in attendance, to include his two grandsons who are also LMIP members of John A. Lejeune #350.
The ladies of the Eastern Star and the Rainbow Girls did the decorating of the lodge on the Sunday prior to Thanksgiving in preparation for next month’s celebrations and events.
For the upcoming month of December, we will be hosting the Quantico Town municipal employees for breakfast on the morning of the 7th beginning at around 8:30 a.m. and Santa Claus for the children of the base and town later in the day. The parade will go the same day with the Base band and Color Guard stepping off at 1 p.m. sharp.
The Stated Communication and Election of Officers will be held on the second Monday of the month, the 9th of December. The practice for the installation of Officers will be held Wednesday the 11th at 7 p.m. and the actual installation will be held on Saturday the 14th at 2 p.m.
On the 19th, we will be distributing the annual Christmas food baskets, please see Right Worshipful Jim Newcomer for specifics on financial collections and the actual pick up of foodstuffs from the commissary and subsequent distributions of the baskets.
I would like to take a further moment to wish all of our brethren and their families a safe and very Happy Thanksgiving and ask that you keep Right Worshipful Brother Garnett Bailey in your prayers for a speedy recovery of his current illness.
Sincerely and fraternally,
Randall Arnold, Worshipful Master
John A. Lejeune Lodge No. 350 AF&AM
