January 2020 Trestleboard

Worshipful Master Randall and the Rainbow chapter

Brethren,
First off let me wish everyone a very Happy New Year with best wishes for a very successful year.
December seemed to come and go a bit fast, probably due to the Stated Communication and elections going early in the month and the lodge installation ceremony in the same week. I am quite grateful for the lodge leadership team that we have assembled for the coming year.
As usual we hosted the Quantico Town municipal employees for breakfast on the morning of the 7th beginning at around 8:30 a.m. and Santa Claus for the children of the base and town later that day. The parade had a very good turnout even without the Marine Corps Base Band and we had a very large attendance at the lodge of children and parents coming to see Santa and enjoy lunch with us of burgers and hot dogs.
For the fellowship prior to the Stated Communications, Brother Lazarus treated us an amazing meal of Cuban cuisine, in a word it was phenomenal. The incoming Stewards will have a challenge in topping that.
The Stated Communication and Election of Officers went as planned on the second Monday of the month, the 9th of December. The practice for the installation of Officers went on Wednesday the 11th at 7pm and the actual installation was held on Saturday the 14th at 2:00 pm. Both RWB Rex and I attended the installation of officers at Occoquan Lodge earlier that day at 10:00 and then following our installations we both went down to Fredericksburg #4 for their installation ceremony. It was a very long day to say the least, but satisfying in all respects.
On the 19th, the annual Christmas food baskets were distributed by RWB Jim, RWB Rex and Bro Lazarus. From what I understand, there were Marines on hand to assist and the Commissary made the entire effort quite smooth and painless.
I am looking forward to a very safe and prosperous upcoming year for both the lodge and all of us brethren, best wishes to all!
Sincerely and fraternally,
Randall Arnold, Worshipful Master
John A. Lejeune Lodge No. 350 AF&AM
