The lodge monthly budget meeting went well this month. The decision was made to begin transferring funds to a new account with Navy Federal that would allow the lodge to gain a better return on its assets while being available for usage to affect some needed repairs to the lodge building and other discussed programs.
For the Stated Communications, we were treated to an outstanding dinner by Brother Lazarus. The speaker for the evening was the Worshipful Master who gave a talk on the tradition, history and mechanics of the Table Lodge. The plan to hold a Table Lodge was shelved for another time as the planning was somewhat lacking, but will improve and be put into effect at a later date.
The District School for July was held at the Springfield Lodge on the 25th of the month at 7:00 p.m. as usual. It was sponsored by the Fort Hunt-Skidmore daytime Lodge and exemplified the Entered Apprentice degree, the Worshipful Master covered the Junior Deacon’s role and performed with minimal errors! As I stated in an earlier Trestleboard, these schools are of immeasurable value for those who are progressing in line and will definitely improve both knowledge and confidence in Masonic ritual. At a minimum, all elected officers should be attending so as to build upon the skills already acquired.
The Stated Communications for October will fall on the 21st of October and will also be Past Masters Night. I do hope that there will be a significant number of Past Masters in attendance and will make it a very successful evening.
Respectfully and fraternally yours,
Randall Arnold, Worshipful Master
John A. Lejeune Lodge No. 350 AF&AM
